On Friday, July 11, 2014 Premier Commercial Bank discovered an issue with PIN-based debit card transactions. The issue lies within the VISA™Interlink approval network that many merchants use for approvals of PIN-based transactions. As a result, your card may be denied when you attempt a PIN-based transaction.

On Tuesday, June 10, P.F. Chang’s learned of a security compromise that involves credit and debit card data reportedly stolen from some of their restaurants. Please visit http://www.pfchangs.com/security/ for addition information if you believe you may be a victim of this recent compromise.

We will be making improvements to:
- Online Banking, to include a new Personal Financial Management feature
- New custom Mobile Banking applications for Apple and Android devices
- Remote check deposit for consumers
- Enhanced ACH services for Cash Management clients
- Improved administrative capabilities to help our business clients better-manage online access
The upgrade will begin Thursday, July 10, 2014 and will be complete on Monday, July 14, 2014. There will be some interruption of service during this period. We want you to be informed and prepared for the changes that will take place that weekend.

Microsoft will discontinue extended support for XP effective April 8, 2014. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide regular security patches, technical assistance, or support for XP.
Potential problems include degradation in the delivery of various products and services, application incompatibilities, and increased potential for data theft and unauthorized additions, deletions, and changes of data.
If you are currently using the Windows XP operating system, Premier recommends that you upgrade to Windows 7 prior to April 8, 2014.

Dr. G. Donald Jud is Professor Emeritus and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Business and Economics Research in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNCG. He has taught courses in finance, real estate and economics. Dr. Jud received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. He is author of over 80 academic articles and three books, including Inflation and the Use of Indexing and the Desktop Encyclopedia of Banking. Dr. Jud compiles a monthly newsletter that focuses on economic trends in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem entitled the Dixon Hughes Goodman Triad Business Index. He has served as a director of the Greensboro Rotary Club and the Greensboro Regional Realtors® Association. He is a past President of the Central North Carolina chapter of Junior Achievement
Robin Rhyne is Vice President of Existing Industry Services of the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance/Greensboro Partnership, an organization that facilitates the creation of high quality jobs, attracts new capital investment, and works to retain as well as expand existing businesses in Greensboro and Guilford County, NC. Existing Industry Services include activities such as the operation of industry councils, serving as a liaison for industry and local government or institutions, and travel to trade specific events. Robin has worked in economic development for 8 years. Previously she lived in Los Angeles where she was involved in international sales, distribution, and post production services for independent films.
Frank Gavigan is founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Premier Bank which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. Prior to founding Premier, Frank served for 15 years as the Senior Credit Officer for 1st State Bank in Burlington, where he managed the bank’s loan portfolio. From 1984 to 1990, he worked for First Union National Bank in High Point, serving as a Commercial Lending Officer and then as the office’s Commercial Banking Manager. Frank graduated in 1980 with honors and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Virginia. He also earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in 1984. He has served on the board of the North Carolina Bankers Association’s Community Investment Corporation of the Carolinas, as well as numerous community non-profits and service organizations.
